Product Description
Ashley Lauren Organic Hair Colors
Are made exclusively with organic lawsonia inermis, and other botanical natural coloring agents.
Henna is a natural plant coloring for the hair; made from the powdered leaves of a desert shrub plant, Lawsonia. The Henna we offer is 100% organic organically grown. Our henna is free from pesticide, with no synthetic additives or artificial coloring agents.
Henna contains hannatannic acid which, when mixed with tea, coffee or hot water, will coat the hair. It seals in oils and tightens the hair cuticle giving your hair a rich, healthy texture. Henna has no lightening action, so the shade that you choose will depend on your hair color. A strand test is highly recommended, especcially if you are more than 10% grey. Intructions are included with each order. Our Henna is packaged in a jar to make it easy for you to use only what you need.
How do I color my hair with natural hair color?
Hair Preparation
Our hair color may be applied to wet or dry hair that is clean. Towel dry hair if you wish to shampoo first. Apply cream or oil around the hairline, ears, and neck to avoid staining your skin.
Hair Color Preparation
Pour 4oz of hair color or henna into a glass or plastic bowl. Gradually add tea, coffee or boiling water depending on your preferred color. Use black coffee or tea for a deeper color. Use a wooden or plastic spoon to mix thoroughly until you have a creamy consistency. More liquid can be added if the mixture is too thick. Let the mixture sit overnight. The next morning when you are ready to apply it to your hair, add 1 egg to prepared mixture for dry or damaged hair.
Hair Application
Wear plastic or rubber gloves to avoid staining your hands.
1. Separate hair into 1 inch thick sections.
2. Using a brush, begin at the scalp and paint henna paste onto hair from roots to the ends.
3. Continue applying until all hair is thickly coated with the Henna mixture.
4. Place a cotton or tissue band around the hairline. Cover hair with a plastic wrap.
Timing by color:
-Darker Colors: Leave on for 1-3 hours. Heat can be applied to speed processing time.
-Lighter Colors: Leave on for 1-2 hours.
5. After the appropriate wait time, rinse thoroughly with warm water followed by cool water. Apply Ashley Lauren Jojoba Hair Oil and Leave-In conditioner to hair and dry naturally.

Love this Indigo!
I love to use Georgia's Indigo because i know she sells quality products. They are organic with no chemicals in them at all. I love how she explains in detail how to use it and my hair turns out just as she said it would. You can use it to make your hair black or use it to tone down the reddness of red or brown henna. I love to experiment with the indigo and henna just to see what color I get. And no worries if you didn't get the color you expected, you can do it again almost immediately with no damage to your hair. My hair is black with some grays around the egdes so I use henna all over and indigo on the edges just to tone the red down. It works! My grays are gone and I do it again when I see them coming back. The grays stay away for about a month. I use nothing else but Gorrgia's organic hair colors. They are the best.
